Quest Background: A Demon has made his prescience demanding the payment of debt owned to him by your mother or else a curse will be cast upon the kingdom.
Objective: Attain 100,000 gold in 40 days
As the quest objectives imply, "Deal with the Daemon" focuses mainly on economy rather than fighting. The goal here is to attain as much gold as quickly as possible to accomplish the objective. You begin with a fairly well-developed town. Since there are already guild buildings in place, train two priestesses and two warriors to allow you to advance to level two. Meanwhile, build a marketplace. As the essential goal-making building, your marketplaces will be essential to the completion of this quiz. Once you reach level 2 palace, build an elven bungalow when you have the gold. Train a full force of 4 prietesses to hold off the wandering monsters.
In addition to monster lairs, there will also be three rogue guilds whose members might try to raid or loot your buildings. Eventually, it's preferable to dispose of them, but the rogues should be a non-issue since they are no match agaisnt priestesses and elves. Once you have your buildings and defense settled in, upgrade your marketplace to level 2 and build a trading post near the guardhouse near the blacksmith. Once the trading post is in place, you'll probably want to construct an additional guardhouse nearby and research arrows to fend off trolls. Whenever you see a troll that is threatening a guardhouse, a helpful strategy is to cast wither to slow it down. With a trading post and a level two marketplace, your economy should start taking off. You might want to construct a rangers guild and recruit a few rangers to locate all the monster lairs and explore the edges of the map. A roster of four priestesses, four rangers, two warriors and two elves is more than enough to defend your buildings. Once given the opportunity, upgrade your palace to level 3 to gain an additional tax collector.
The next thing in mind is to expand your economic buildings by building additional marketplaces and trading posts. A good goal by day 20 is to have four marketplaces and two to three trading posts at the edges ofthe map guarded by guardhouses or a temple to Lunord. For marketplaces, only the ones taking in trade caravans need to be upgraded. UPgrading the rest is generally not essential.
If all is well, you should reach the goal before day 40 without any major problems. If for some reason you are having trouble, you can try gambling your way through!
