If you attempt this map successfully without reading a walkthough first, this quest will surely test your creativity!...
The most unique aspect is that your guilds can only hold one hero each, although each hero starts out very experienced (at levels 10-19). Luckily, you can get around the hero count limit by using the embassy-outpost combination which allows you to obtain more heroes without the heavy cost of building more guilds.
Begin by recruiting a rogue and a Solarus and ordering the construction of a warriors guild near the marketplace. The Solarus and rogue will allow you to reach level two for your palace which should be done immediately once the heroes have been recruited. At level two, immediately start building defenses by building either a temple to Dauros or kryta. Start recruiting monks or Priestesses right away to hold off the early goblin horde. Feel free to cast change of heart to recall the Solarus if she is out hunting. Once you've held off the first wave of invaders, you can then decide how to approach the scenario. Build an additional marketplace and a guard house. You'll need lots of gold to have a good chance at completing this quest.
If you chose the path of might, that is by using heroes to attack the barrows, you're in for a really tough fight. The problem is that it is very difficult to get your rangers out to explore the map, since there will be very strong monsters all over. Each time a barrow falls, a large number of monsters will spawn to attack your base, so if you send your melee heroes out to attack, you'll also find yourself trying to arrive at a fragile balance of offense and defense. Still, the challenge is to get your heroes out to the far-reaching barrows without getting scared off by rock golems in the middle, which is an exceedingly difficult feat. In fact, I don't believe there is a build order that will give you a consistently good chance to easily win. If you haven't destroyed all the barrows by day 30, a permanent earthquake will ensue and your kingdom will collapse.
The alternative and much easier approach is to use magic; That is, by building wizard towers all over the map and strike down the barrows with lightning bolts. For this, you will definitely need a powerhouse economy and a strong defensive force. Build three to four marketplaces and revenue buildings like inns, blacksmiths, magic bazaars, and possibly trading posts. If you accomplish that in a reasonable time, such as by day 15, you should have a strong enough defense force, including an embassy and a future outpost, and an economy that will allow you to build wizard towers all over the land. Upgrade your wizards guild to level 3 and slowly expand the towers. When you've located all, turn down the game speed or hot key the barrows and smith them with the lightning bolt to win the map. If some of your heroes destroy a barrow "prematurely", you'll need to defend your base. The first wave will consist of Trolls targeting your marketplace. The second wave will be a horde of minotaurs spawning inside your base. Lightning storm works very well on both waves, so make sure you have a level 3 wizards guild ready to fend off the monsters.
