Sources for Majesty Lore
Like most series, there is no single piece of work that provides the entire lore of Ardania. Most of the background information can be pieced together through an eclectic group of sources, including in-game text, tales from the game manual, and the history of Ardania from Prima's strategy guide. Below is a list of the main sources which altogether form the "lore of Ardania".

Abundant in-game descriptions, including quest introductions and unit descriptions, contain a large amount of pieces that reference the background story of the game. Prima's Guide for Majesty is in fact one of the to come out of Prima. Since the guide Joe Minton, head of Cyberlore Studios at the time, the content in the guide is considered "official," including a section titled History of Ardania.
