As the name suggests, there will be plenty of dragons for you to deal with when playing this quest. Most of the dragon attackers will come one at once, although there will be times when they come in greater numbers. Since dragons are primarily ranged attackers, priestesses are ideal since their skeletons are excellent at dodging ranged fire. Luckily, you begin with a Kryta temple, so you can start training them right away. You will need to because the dragons will be arriving pretty soon. For your other heroes, Adepts also stand out in this quest due to their very high dodge capability. A well-levled adept with a Protection ring is nearly invulerable to dragon fire. A wizards guild is generally a good choice for its lightning storm spell, although wizards themselves tend to either avoid battles against dragons, or die out in the open. Most likely, other heroes will be joining in the defense, although your priestesses and Adepts will probably be the backbone of your defense. Eventually, you want to have two temples each to Lunord and Kryta, suported by other heroes of your choice.
You start the quest with a rangers guild built far awy from your palace. Most likely, it will soon come under attack by dragons, during which there is practially no way you can defend the camp. Since it costs 800 gold to move the camp but fewer to guild a new one, the best choice is to probably demolish the camp and build a new one at your base.
When you have advanced your palace to level two, you might want to consider building another Kryta temple to get out more skeletons on the map. If you have enough rangers, you probably will have discovered an "outpost" just outside of your palace that contains a trading post and two guard houses. The trading post contains 9000 gold, so it's by all means make sure that your tax collector safely deposits the amount. At that point, it's pretty much up to your descretion as to how to complete the quest. As noted earlier, you should probably train two guild-full groups of Adepts for defense, with the temples to Lunord preferably on the defense perimeter of the town. Dwarven ballista towers will provide extra defense, although not entirely necessary if your force of heroes is strong enough.
Eventually, you will come across three Temples to Krolm far out in the map. If you're economy is strong and you've already built your choice of temples, feel free to defend the Krolm Temples. Otherwise, demolish them to salvage some gold. Barbarians are not necessary for the completion of this quest.
When you are ready, destroy the three lairs to trigger a large group of dragons and reveal the location of the dragon king's tomb. If your defense is strong enough, you should hold out to destroy the tomb. A great trick is to cast wither on one group of dragons, causing them to slow down and become separated from the rest when they all come to attack.
