Elf
From HoAWiki
The Elves of Ardania are notorious revelers, prone to the vices of wine and debauchery. They dislike Dwarves and Gnomes, and tend to live in settlements with strong economies and an Inn in which they can play their musical instruments.

[edit] Class Overview
In Heroes of Ardania, what sets ranged classes apart is their ability to attack a few rounds earlier than melee classes and their use of the Ranged stat for combat rather than H2H. Ranged heroes tend to have relatively low damage output in the beginning, but this can be improved later with their schematic items and the fire balm consumable. The Elf is arguably the most capable of the ranged classes early on, but may lag behind the other ranged classes in the long run. In the early game, Elves have the stealing ability, and the unique ability to entertain in inns for gold to help them get started. In the mid-game, their access to the chain mail line of armor, good base magic resistance, and relatively high combat stats gives them a defensive advantage. However, by the late game the other classes can close this gap through training. Also, the Elves primary stat is Artifice, which adds less value over time than stats like Strength, which is primary for Rangers. The Greatbow of Speed, the prefered schematic item of Elves and Rangers, is less powerful than the Rogue's Bolt Spitter. The Greatbow of Speed allows great damage through its double attack ability, but it may be worthwhile to keep a Stealth Bow on hand for its defensive boost.
As a ranged class, the Elf is more challenging than most melee classes. Compared to the other two ranged classes, the Elf is strong in the early stages of the game, but its advantages are less pronounced later on.
Notable Items
- Greatbow of Speed (item) (Original schematic bow, highly proficient in damage)
- Stealth Bow (item) (Schematic bow, useful for stat-enhancement)
- Elven Great Bow (Mid-tier bow)
- Elven Quiver of Slaying (Schematic quiver)
- Bracer of Accuracy (Unique bracer for Rangers and Elves)
- In addition, all three ranged classes utilize a number of other items not available to the melee classes.
