Ratmen

Ratmen are a species found in the underground sewage systems of Valmorgen, Mayhew, and Lormidia. The basic ratman is among the first monsters a hero is likely to counter.

More rodents of unusual size. While they share the sewers with their smaller brethren, they are more cunning and hate-driven than their four-legged cousins. There are rumours of a network of Ratman cities spanning almost the length of Ardania!

Ratman Champion[edit]

The biggest of ratmen, these beasts defend the Rat King with their massive weapons and brutal tactics.

Ratman Shaman[edit]

The witch-doctors of a ratman tribe, the Shamans are always female. It is the only way for a ratman of that gender to get higher up in Ratman society.

Ratman Stalker[edit]

Fast, agile, silent and deadly. The Ratman Stalkers are the only Ratmen allowed to use bows by the current Rat King (who greatly fears assassination attempts by sneaky rivals). They are sent out to find and kill the Ratmen's enemies, whether they be Rust Spitters, Goblins... or you.

Gameplay Note: Ratman Stalkers pose significant threat to spellcasting heroes due to their ranged attack. Ratman Stalker is one of the few monsters with the critical hit ability. Ranged around 80 (Sir Prozous' estimation) so ~180 Dodge is needed for immunity.


Rust Mistress[edit]

These renegade shamans have escaped the Ratman Stalkers, and now control a sizable amount of the Rust Spitters in Lormidia's sewers. That makes them a force to be reckoned with - even if they hadn't learned that nasty Acid Bolt spell.

Ratman Assassin[edit]

Found solely in the Thallis Sewers, these Ratmen hit hard from far. They are usually in the back of Overlords, and woe befoe the hero, Terminators.

Regeneration, Camouflage, Double Attack, Critical Hit
Dodge >245 should be enough for immunity (Drydorn estimates). Has MGR ~170.


Ratman Overlord[edit]

Solely found in the Sewers of Thallis, Ratman Overlord are the weakest of Ratmen found there. Which still means they can singlehandedly erradicate entire tribes of other Ratmen found in normal sewers.

Bred, born and trained to be one-man armies. They had to be to survive the heroes of Thallis living above. Now that those heroes are dead there is nothing stopping them from spreading global chaos around Ardania. Better hope it takes a long time before they realize that.

Ratman King[edit]

After the defeat of Rhoden, the Ratman Kings started to appear in alarming frequency amongst Ardania's Ratmen. While this news was first startling to human, dwarf, elf and gnomekind in Ardania alike, each of them claiming Kingdom over all the rats and the civil war following it left the rats severly weakened to attack the residents of Ardania, making it overall a safer place to live. Unless you're a Ratman of course.
